The Directors of The Machynlleth Tabernacle Trust are delighted to announce the Opening at MOMA Machynlleth of one of the most exciting events in the art world in Wales, the inauguration of Young Welsh Artists – Artistiaid Ifainc Cymru. This event, designed to show the work of artists under 30 working in Wales, will take place annually in November at MOMA Machynlleth.

The artists presented in the inaugural exhibition are Lili Hauser, Elin Hughes, Guto Morgan, Abby Poulson, Rhiannon Rees, Jasmine Sheckleford, Owain Sparnon, Tomos Sparnon, Ethan Dodd and Sara Treble-Parry.

Our special thanks go to Lydia Lambert whose donation to the Trust was the inspiration for AIC; to Dr Robert Meyrick for his invaluable advice; and to our two Curators Dr Lloyd Roderick and Mari Elin Jones whose enthusiasm and commitment has never wavered however dismal the outside scene.

If a traditional exhibition is allowed rigorous health measures will be in place. If not, the exhibition will be filmed and will go out online. Either way we hope you will enjoy sharing with us the opportunity to see the very best of what Young Welsh Artists can offer.

Our Planned Reopening.

Subject to Government restrictions, from Saturday 28 November MOMA Machynlleth Galleries and Café will be open 2 days per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 4pm. Our opening exhibitions include Young Welsh Artists and The Society of Wood Engravers.

Visitor safety is important to us and MOMA Machynlleth staff have been busy putting arrangements in place to help keep our visitors, volunteers and staff safe during COVID-19. These arrangements include: contact details being taken for track and trace, wearing of facemasks being compulsory, hand sanitiser stations being available throughout the building, one way systems being in operation throughout the galleries with separate entrances and exits for visitors, gallery visits being by pre-booked appointment only, size of groups permitted entry being limited in line with current guidelines, and enhanced cleaning regimes being in place with surfaces cleaned in between each visitor booking.

Visitors can check availability and book their visit from Monday 2 November by calling 01654 703355 or emailing info@moma.machynlleth.org.uk.
