One of the most exciting events in the art world in Wales, the second Young Welsh Artists – Artistiaid Ifainc Cymru exhibition will showcase the work of artists under 30 working in Wales.

The exhibition will introduce nine early-career artists from across Wales, whose disciplines range from ceramics and photography to painting and installations.

Two guest curators, Mari Elin Jones and Lloyd Roderick, have been invited back to stage the exhibition for the second year:

Mari Elin Jones is a curator, artist and author interested in all aspects of Welsh culture and the environment. She has worked as an exhibition curator at The National Library of Wales since 2013 and has been key in staging exhibitions such as Distillation (Shani Rhys James, 2015), A Welsh Focus on War and Peace (Philip Jones Griffiths, 2015), Mametz (Aled Rhys Hughes, 2016) and Kyffin Williams: Behind the Frame (2018).

Lloyd Roderick is a researcher and curator interested in the visual culture of Wales. He has published in O’r Pedwar Gwynt and Art Libraries Journal. He curated his first exhibition, Wales and the Modern Movements Revisited, which looked at modernist practice in Wales in the 20th century at the School of Art, Aberystwyth in summer 2019.
