We head to central and Eastern Europe for much of this concert, with Dvořák’s stormy trio and Smetana’s heartfelt and tender work. The concert starts with Haydn’s ‘Gypsy’ trio, whose last movement incorporates tradition Hungarian music and techniques, and in-between we hear Sally Beamish’s vibrant Carnival Samba.
