Elin Crowley is an artist from Machynlleth who creates print work taking inspiration from the landscape around her in Mid Wales.

In this exhibition Elin attempts to summarize the significance of the landscape around her to her identity, specifically in relation to her experience of growing up on a farm and living in the Welsh countryside. The way of life in Elin’s Welsh countryside community is a great influence on her, especially the contrasts that occur on a daily basis – the natural and the unnatural, the harsh weather and the mild, the local and the world-wide, the living and the dead, things that influence her sense of place in the world.

The work is a consideration of how something abstract and intangible can be accessed in an image.
