Dennis O’Neill

Born in Wales of Welsh and Irish parents, for nearly fifty years Dennis O’Neill has been one of the most admired amongst British tenors with a career that has embraced The Royal Opera House and Welsh National Opera as well as Munich, Vienna, Berlin and New York. If Verdi has been at the heart of his singing career with the tenor part in his Requiem a particular favourite, he has also sung in productions of Puccini and Strauss. Dennis O’Neill talks to Christopher Cook about his career as a Verdian and his current role teaching a new generation of singers.
