Bartok’s Contrasts closes this concert. Made famous by clarinettist Benny Goodman,  it’s full of melodies and rhythms influenced by Hungarian and Romanian folk. We open with Stravinsky’s Soldiers Tale, telling the story of a violinist who sells his instrument for a fortune-telling magic book.
