Robat Arwyn
Rhys Meirion

The Welsh composer Robat Arwyn is this year’s recipient of the Glyndŵr Award for an Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Wales.

Robat Arwyn is one of the most prolific and popular composers in Wales today. Conductor of the famed Côr Rhuthun, Arwyn’s contribution to the choral legacy of Welsh music is significant. There is hardly a choir in Wales today which does not have at least one Robat Arwyn song in its repertoire, and the strength of his musicianship is evident in his many commissions by the National Eisteddfod, the Urdd, Radio Cymru and the Young Farmers Movement, and the London Welsh Male Voice Choir to name a few.

This event includes an introduction and performance of Arwyn’s music by the Welsh tenor Rhys Meirion.
