Predators – love them or loathe them? by Mary Colwell

Whether it is sparrowhawks hunting blue tits or foxes killing pheasants, predation is a natural and essential part of life. Yet we have a complex relationship with predators, they stir strong feelings in us. Should we leave them to it or intervene to protect one species against another?

Mary Colwell is an award-winning author, producer, and campaigner for nature. She is especially well-known for her work on Curlew conservation. Her book ‘Beak, Tooth and Claw’ is an insightful and fair-minded examination of predators in the British countryside.
