Originally from Dartmoor, Carl Chapple is a portrait and figure painter, now based in South Wales.

His work often features stage performers such as comedians, actors and musicians, though has more recently focused on collaborations with dancers. Often involving dynamic or gestural poses, dance compositions may draw on existing choreography, or be developed through improvisation, working in rehearsal and performance spaces, as well as the painting studio.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of pictures from projects with a number of performers and artists, and from time spent with companies such as Ballet Cymru, James Wilton Dance, and National Dance Company Wales.
