The theme for the competition was \u201cSecret\u201d or (Cyfrinach in Welsh). Amanda Gibbon and her son William generously agreed to be this year\u2019s Judges. He attended art school and embraced life drawing classes particularly, and at every opportunity. In his twenties Bob began to follow his other passion, submerging himself into the study of Ecology at Cardiff University eventually gaining his doctorate studying River restoration. The ravages of life, marriage and four busy children took over, and a living was made from his environmental interests. The landscape provides the starting point for much of his painting and he also works with portraiture. He is establishing exhibition representation in Wales with work being hung in a number of regional galleries. The winning works, alongside the highly commended works and a selection of other submitted works, will be exhibited in the Owen Owen and Bridge Galleries at MOMA Machynlleth from 24 June to the 6th September. All the exhibited works are for sale.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage visitors to come and vote their favourite works. The adult and under 18 works with the most votes will win the Ailsa Owen Memorial Prize, a prize given by David Owen in memory of his late wife who judged the first competition nearly thirty years ago.
